Inner container, scoop, channel, pool wall and handrail scale up and build biofilm. Cleaning is appropriate to the material, and the Kneipp pool is emptied completely and wiped out before disinfection, because residual water dilutes the concentration.

Then a surfactant or fragrance-oil residue is sitting in the timber and is given off again every time the cabin is heated. The bench surfaces are abraded rather than wiped, the cabin is then heated through, and only after that released.
Closing a cabin while the hotel is running
The spa area closes at nine in the evening and opens at seven — everything has to happen in between, including the heat-up time. Individual cabins are also closed during the day and released again one at a time.

Slip resistance in a barefoot area is a measured value
Wet barefoot surfaces are divided into classes A to C, tested on the inclined plane to DIN 51097; for pool edges and showers the higher class applies. That value belongs to the surface as it was installed — and every film-forming additive lowers it: a mop-applied maintainer containing polymer, oil from the massage area, residue from brine or a scrub, and even an overdosed cleaner that is not rinsed off. That is why in the barefoot area we work without any maintenance additive, rinse clear after every treatment that leaves a residue, and report places where the profiling has been filled in by layers of limescale.
A sauna cabin will not take a cleaner you can smell
Untreated softwood and abachi are open-pored: surfactant, maintenance oil or fragrance concentrate soak in and are given off again at eighty to a hundred degrees. Whatever remains in the timber comes through with every infusion and is complained about by guests as chemical. The correct approach is dry mechanics: a brush, fine sanding of the bench surfaces along the grain, at most clear water with a specialist cleaner very sparingly dosed, and then heating the cabin through. Dark rims on the backrest are sweat in the timber — they can be abraded away, not wiped away.
Limescale on a marble bench and limescale on tile are two jobs
Limescale is dissolved with acid, and that is precisely what must not happen on calcareous natural stone: marble, limestone and travertine consist of calcite themselves, and acid etches matt patches into them that only disappear through re-sanding and polishing. On acrylic trays and benches abrasives are out, because the micro-scratches stay matt permanently and the roughened surface then scales up again faster. Before the first visit we determine substrate by substrate, record it in the zone plan and, in case of doubt, start at a concealed place.
