02. What Green Wall Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Graz at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Floor area and side glazing
The spray mist from the irrigation dries on glass, plinth and floor covering as a fine haze. It is taken off with decalcified water, not rubbed dry.
Mobile containers and room-divider planting in the same pass
Hydroculture containers with an expanded clay surface, water level indicators, saucers and castors. The expanded clay layer is vacuumed rather than flushed, because otherwise the fine fraction travels downwards and blocks the outlet.
Establishing the system type before the first visit
A living plant wall with a substrate mat, hydroculture with pot carriers, a preserved moss wall and artificial planting look similar and call for opposite treatment. What we record is the system manufacturer, the maintenance instructions and the question of what is allowed to see moisture at all.
Leaf surfaces on living planting
Upper leaf surfaces taken off from the top down, with a soft cloth and decalcified water, without leaf shine products. Dead foliage caught in the mat is taken out before it starts to rot.
Irrigation equipment in the same pass
Drip lines, nozzles, filters, the pump and the reservoir are checked for flow, deposits and leaks; otherwise a blocked emitter only shows up weeks later as a dry stripe. How the nutrient solution circuit is separated from the drinking water supply belongs, under EN 1717, in the findings.
Drip edge, collection channel and outlet
Whitish rims at the lower edge are crystallised fertiliser salt, not limescale dirt from outside. The channel, strainer and outlet are cleared, and the felt edge checked for waterlogging.
In Graz the installations are frequently in university and college buildings, in new builds on the edge of the city and in medical practices in the centre. The inversion in the basin brings more fine dust into interiors in winter, which settles as a closed grey haze on upper leaf surfaces and luminaire glass — from November to March the cycle is therefore tighter than in summer. In old-town buildings with narrow stairs we carry the equipment and the mobile tower up, because there is no goods lift.
03. Green Wall Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
A green wall is not a surface but an installation with water distribution, substrate and equipment behind it — and the most common damage does not come from too little cleaning but from the wrong kind of it: hard tap water leaves marks on the leaf, and a preserved moss wall is not clean after a wet pass but ruined. On top of that, dust indoors takes away light that living plants are short of in any case. We establish the system type and the maintenance instructions before the first visit, check the irrigation on every pass and record the condition with photographs. We give the cost range after the inspection, because the height, the access and the type of system determine the effort. In Graz, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Green Wall Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Working height without borrowed equipment
Green walls often reach beyond three metres; we bring the platform ladder and the mobile tower, and furniture and the floor are covered beforehand.
10Visits in an occupied open-plan office
Work is done early or after the working day, with little dust and no smell, so that nobody is sitting beside the wall while it is being cleaned.
07. Green Wall Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Green Wall Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
A cycle alongside the planting maintenance
Pruning, feeding and replacing plants is done by the gardener. Dust, the channel, the frame, the glass and the floor run alongside as a cleaning interval of their own.
Small flies in the office around the wall
Fungus gnats come out of the damp upper substrate layer. The pass takes dust, foliage and crumbs away and documents the infestation for the planting contractor.
After the gardener has replaced plants
Substrate crumbs on profiles and the floor, drip marks on glass, hand prints on the fascia. A short follow-up pass, so that the replacement looks finished.
The irrigation has failed
After a pump or control failure, dried-out substrate crusts, salt rims and dead material are left behind. Both are taken off before watering starts again.
The heating season with dry room air
With low humidity, more dust stays in motion and settles again more quickly. In those months a shorter interval delivers more than one thorough single visit.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Green Wall Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Dust on the luminaire costs more light than dust on the leaf
Interior planting is supplied through plant lights, and their luminous flux passes through the cover glass and the reflector. A layer of dust on those two components markedly reduces the radiation arriving, and because it builds up slowly nobody notices it — what gets noticed first is the plant, which goes leggy and gives up the lower panels. Work is done exclusively switched off and cooled, dry or barely damp with microfibre, without solvents on lenses and plastic optics and without moisture in the lampholder, the seal and the plug connection. Damaged seals and loose suspensions we report in writing rather than tightening them ourselves.
Fungus gnats sit in the substrate, not on the surface
The larvae develop in the top few centimetres of damp substrate and feed on organic material; the adult insects are only the visible end of that, and yellow traps indicate the infestation rather than ending it. Cleaning reaches no larval stage — it takes away dead foliage and crumbs, and with them food, and makes the findings visible. What works are dry phases between watering cycles, a covering layer and the use of beneficial organisms; that lies with the planting contractor or the pest controller. We do not spray insecticide in an office; we report the panel, the quantity and the date.
Dust on the leaf is a light problem, not a cosmetic one
Interior planting lives at the lower limit of its light requirement; a closed layer of dust on the upper leaf surface takes away further radiation and the plant responds with pale, soft leaves and losses in the lower panels. Gas exchange runs through stomata, which lie mostly on the underside of the leaf — which is why the work is done from above and without leaf shine products, because their film closes the pores and the surface then binds dust more strongly. Cleaning is done with decalcified water, or limescale spots are left standing on the leaf as it dries.

●. Frequently asked questions about Green Wall Cleaning in Graz
What does Green Wall Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
