02. What Construction Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Salzburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Cement haze, mortar and grout residue
On tiles, porcelain stoneware and clinker, cement haze is released with an acid, after the grout has cured and after the joint has been saturated with water. On lime-bearing stone, terrazzo and cement tiles that is ruled out; there the work is mechanical and starts with a test area.
Glass and frames after the construction phase
Cement splashes, silicone, film adhesive and labels come off glass, frames, rebates and ironmongery. A blade is used only after approval and never on coated or solar control glass; window sills, drainage slots and seals are worked as well.
The substrate before the floor covering
Screed and bare concrete are handed over sweep-vacuumed and free of residue, ridges of filler and islands of mortar taken off, without attacking the bonding layer or a primer. Anything noticeable in terms of residual moisture or cracking is reported before the covering goes on it.
Ventilation outlets and duct access after the build
Supply and extract outlets, inspection hatches and duct entries carry fine dust after the construction phase that ends up back in the room the first time the system runs. The accessible parts are worked; for the system itself, ÖNORM H 6021 applies and specialist cleaning by whoever maintains the plant.
Kitchen and oven degreased
Oven inside, extractor hood including filter, fridge inside, fronts, tiled splashback. Grease and burnt-on residue fully released.
Sanitary areas descaled
Tiles, joints, taps, shower screen, WC and basin descaled right through and disinfected with VAH-listed agents — including stubborn urine scale and limescale.
Salzburg's old town is a World Heritage Site, the fabric is listed, and on the Mönchsberg there is conglomerate and nagelfluh stone — a lime-bound natural stone on which acidic cement haze removers cause damage immediately. Narrow lanes without vehicle access mean: no access platform, no large machines, skips only in time windows, materials carried. The high rainfall brings dirt and moisture into the shell continuously, which is why more interim cleans arise and the drying times before the covering are longer than calculated.
03. Construction Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
Plenty of firms offer Construction Cleaning — from facility service providers to regional cleaning businesses and online brokers. The difference is rarely in the promise. It is in who actually turns up, whether those people are properly registered, and what happens when something goes wrong. In Salzburg, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Construction Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Construction waste separated and with a record
Packaging, timber, metal, plasterboard and residual waste are taken away separated by fraction and disposed of through authorised collectors — the record comes with the work.
10Acid and blade only after approval
Before any chemical or mechanical intervention on stone, glass and coated surfaces there is a test area and the site management's approval, recorded in writing.
07. Construction Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Construction Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
After a burst pipe or water damage on site
Drying units run for days, stir up dust and carry it into storeys that had long been finished. After they are removed, a fine clean follows including high level and reveals.
After demolition and strip-out
After a strip-out, coarse debris with a high proportion of fines remains that rises again with every step. The work runs from the top down, with dust suppression, separated fractions and clear escape routes.
After moving out
Handing a flat back to the landlord or the managing agent: kitchen with the oven, bathroom descaled, floors, windows. Fit for the handover record, so that the deposit comes back in full.
Before moving in
Taking over the new flat hygienically fresh before the furniture arrives — kitchen, bathroom, floors and the inside of cupboards disinfected, instead of inheriting the previous tenant's dirt.
After renovation and construction
Post-construction cleaning: fine dust, paint and silicone residue, adhesive remnants and building dirt off floors, windows and every surface — with industrial vacuums, kind to the material.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Construction Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Cement haze is not solved by the agent but by the timing
Cement haze is washed-out lime and binder; alkaline cleaners achieve nothing against it, because chemically they work in the wrong direction. What works are acidic cement haze removers, and that is exactly where the two traps lie: if the work is done too early the grout is not yet sufficiently hydrated, the acid washes binder out of the joint, and the result is sanding, open joints that count as cleaning damage. And on lime-bearing natural stone, terrazzo or cement tiles the acid does not attack the haze but the covering itself — dull marks appear that can only be removed by grinding. Hence: wait for curing, saturate the joint with water beforehand, a test area in an inconspicuous place, and on acid-sensitive substrates mechanical rather than chemical work.
Building dust scratches the covering if you sweep it
Building dust from concrete, screed, filler and plasterboard contains quartz, is sharp-edged and alkaline. Swept dry, two things happen: the fine fraction rises and settles over the next few hours on every surface that has just been finished, and the coarse fraction is dragged under the broom across soft coverings. PVC, linoleum, design flooring and parquet pick up micro-scratches in the process that leave the covering dull and prone to soiling — damage that is only noticed weeks later as wear. The right way is: vacuum with dust class M, then damp in two passes with frequent water changes, because the first pass only releases and the second takes off. Anyone who stops after the first pass spreads an alkaline slurry that dries grey.
Glass damage happens during the build, not during the cleaning
Alkaline cement liquor, mortar splashes, grinding sparks and welding spatter attack the glass surface; left standing for longer, glass corrosion develops that no cleaning method reverses. The same applies to flash rust on glass and aluminium, which eats in. In practice that means: construction glass cleaning belongs early in the sequence, not only at handover, and it needs plenty of water for flushing out, so that cement particles do not become abrasive grit under the blade. Blades are used only after approval and never on solar control, mirrored or coated glass, because the coating may be on the outside. Whatever has already eaten in before our visit we record with a photograph before we start work.

●. Frequently asked questions about Construction Cleaning in Salzburg
What does Construction Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
