Frameless glass assemblies and partitions

Cement haze, mortar splashes, silicone and film adhesive are dissolved and flushed off, never scraped dry — and a blade is used only where clear float glass has been fitted.

The surface is flushed before squeegeeing, so that no grain of sand gets under the lip, and rubber lips are replaced before they start to streak. A glass specialist can polish out fine scratches but not deep ones — which is why the effort with us comes first, not afterwards.

Dull is not dirty: glass corrosion is damage to the material
If alkaline water runs over glass — cement water from the site, run-off over fresh concrete, mortar splashes left for days — silicate is leached out of the surface. The result is a matt, milky etching that no cleaning will bring back; after that only polishing by a glass specialist will help, and not always even then. That is why cleaning glass after building work is a deadline and not a matter of taste: the sooner the residue is off, the less remains.
Coated glass and decoration do not forgive a blade
Solar control and anti-reflective layers sit on the surface as a soft coating, usually on the room side, and sandblasted or etched decoration is an open, absorbent structure. A blade, scouring agents and hard pads take material off there, and the spot stays visible, because the difference in gloss shows up in raking light. Work is done chemically, with dwell time, plenty of water and a soft cloth, and on decoration with very little liquid, because the structure holds moisture and dries patchily.
The fittings are the most sensitive part of the assembly
Clamps, hinges and handles on frameless glass assemblies are usually brushed stainless steel: cleaners containing chlorine and WC agents set off pitting corrosion there, which starts as a brown dot and never goes away again. Cleaning is done with a neutral or mild agent, finished in the direction of the grain, and clamping profiles are wiped out dry after the wet step, because water in the joint leaves limescale rims. Glass and fittings are therefore two surfaces with two agents and not one operation.
