02. What House Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Salzburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site. Bling Bling is a member of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO).
Stove, fireplace and stove glass
Cold ash taken out and put into the metal container, stove glass cleaned with fine ash on damp paper instead of an abrasive, the area around the stove and the wood store. The flue and the combustion equipment remain with the chimney sweep.
Domestic ventilation, filters and disc valves
Supply and extract valves taken off, washed and put back at the same setting, filter mats changed to the manufacturer's specification, grilles and external openings cleared. The inside of the ducting is a matter for the ventilation firm.
A household with animals
Animal hair out of upholstery, carpet, joints and the skirting area with a dedicated nozzle, bowls, resting places and the area around the litter tray with separate materials. The smell sits in the textiles, and that is where we start.
Store room, refrigeration and waste separation
Shelves wiped out, refrigerator and freezer interiors by arrangement including the seal and the drip tray, separation bins inside and out. Goods past their date are reported, not disposed of.
Every floor and the staircase between them
Each floor means routes, and the staircase is a surface in its own right, with risers, strings and handrail. Both are in the plan with their own time allowance, not as an appendix to the living area.
Bathrooms and WCs
Taps, shower glass, joints, drain and tiled surfaces — with the agent that suits the material. How quickly limescale forms depends on the water hardness at the location and sets the interval.
Salzburg is the wettest of our cities, and that is reflected in the plan: north faces, cellar steps, terrace surfaces and timber fences pick up algae and moss growth, damp in the cellar is a permanent subject, and ventilation habits make more difference than any agent. Within the city many houses stand on slopes with stepped access and no driveway, so materials are carried. On top of that there are second residences and let houses, where we take on the changeover round between two occupancies.
03. House Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
A house is enquired about by the square metre and worked by routes: staircases, a second or third bathroom, ancillary rooms and the garden access take more time than additional living area, which is why flat rates based on floor area miss the mark. On top of that, a private house puts materials side by side that cannot be handled with one agent — oiled timber, limestone, porcelain stoneware, coated fronts, shower glass. We survey floors, bathrooms and ancillary rooms individually, set the rhythm and the intervals and assign the same member of staff, so that nothing has to be explained afresh each time. Our staff are permanently employed and properly registered, there are no subcontractors, and we carry €3m public liability; the cost framework we give after the inspection. In Salzburg, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for House Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Registered staff with a key record
We have been a family firm since 2014, all our staff are properly registered, and keys or codes are handed over in writing. In a private household that counts for more than a price comparison.
10Five locations, one team
We work in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg. Anyone with a main residence and a second house at two of those locations gets the same contact and the same standard.
07. House Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. House Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
After water damage and drying out
Screed dust, rings left by the drying units, furniture moved out of place and skirting junctions. Cleaning starts only once the drying is complete.
The house is let as a second residence
Between two occupancies a changeover round is needed, with laundry, bathroom, kitchen, floors and a check of the fittings — with a fixed completion time before the next arrival.
After moving into a new build
Fine dust from the construction phase sits in joints, roller shutter guides, window rebates and the gaps between radiator fins, and keeps coming back for weeks unless it is carried out thoroughly once.
Both partners working, children or a dog in the house
Then a weekly rhythm is what holds, because the effort per visit stays small and predictable instead of building up between visits.
After the winter
Grit and salt rims in the entrance hall, tyre abrasion in the garage, window surfaces after the heating season. A single spring visit on top of the running rhythm.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about House Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Timber and natural stone in a house call for two working methods
Oiled timber floors are mopped barely damp only and need oil at intervals, not a care product at every round; standing water raises the grain, and on oak a wet spot in combination with iron — a bucket handle, steel wool, a screw — can discolour the timber dark grey to black through the tannic acid. Limestone, marble and many terrazzo and cement tiles, by contrast, are acid-sensitive: the common household remedies vinegar and citric acid etch the surface dull, and that change is no longer dirt but damage to the material. Acidic agents belong on ceramic and porcelain stoneware; everything else is worked neutral.
House dust is to a good extent textile abrasion
What settles as a grey film on surfaces comes for the most part from the house itself: fibre abrasion from carpet, upholstery, bed linen and clothing, skin flakes, paper fibres, and on top of that pollen and street dust off shoes. That is why vacuuming textile surfaces achieves more than another wipe over the chest of drawers — the supply lies in the textiles and not on the wood. A vacuum without a tight filter system works against that: it takes up the coarse fraction and gives the fine fraction back out at the rear, which is why in dust-sensitive households the machine and the filter class matter. The second effective point is the barrier matting at the entrance: a preliminary zone outside, a coarse grating and a mat inside hold back the greater part of what would otherwise be carried through the whole house.
The window rebate has a drain that has to stay clear
In the outer frame of every window there are small drainage openings through which condensate and driving rain are led away to the outside. If dust, pollen, insect remains and flower parts collect there, the water stands in the rebate: the seal stays permanently damp, mildew stains and black growth form on the seal and on the joint to the reveal, and on timber windows the coating starts to move at the lower edge. That is why the rebate, including the drainage opening, belongs in every window round, and not just the pane. The seals themselves are only wiped down and treated at intervals with a suitable care product, so that the rubber stays supple and does not stick when the window is closed.

●. Frequently asked questions about House Cleaning in Salzburg
What does House Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is open-ended with three months' notice. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
