02. What Housekeeping at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Kiel and Klosterneuburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site. Bling Bling is a member of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO).
Departure and stayover rooms to the house standard
Two different routines with a fixed sequence from clean to unclean, so that nothing is handled twice and nothing is carried over. The standard comes from the house; we work to it and train our staff on it.
Bed making and linen change
Linen stripped, mattress protector and topper checked, the bed made up again, soiled linen counted into the bag. The trolley is loaded before the floor is started, not part-way through.
The guest bathroom
Basin, taps, shower glass, WC, mirror and floor with separated cloths, consumables laid out to the standard. Limescale is dealt with as part of the cycle, not allowed to accumulate.
Contact surfaces and technology in the room
Light switches, door handles, remote control, telephone, safe, kettle, minibar and wardrobe handles. The work is done with listed agents and their contact time; displays are worked barely damp and without alcohol.
Room status and reporting back
The status goes to reception as soon as the room is finished; lost property, damage and technical faults are reported and recorded the same day.
Floor pantry, floor areas and room check
Pantry and linen room tidied and stocked, the floor corridor and service door cleaned, spot checks in the room check with a written record.
03. Housekeeping: Bling Bling vs. the competition
Housekeeping is work on a cycle, and the cycle follows from room size, departure rate, bathroom fittings and the distances on the floor — not from a round number of rooms per member of staff. If the cycle is set too high, the time is lost in exactly the places guests look at: how the bed sits, the shower glass, the mirror, the corners of the bathroom. On top of that, work in guest rooms is work of trust — access to every room, other people's property, open suitcases — which is why the question of who goes in matters as much as the question of how fast. We calculate the cycle for each house, staff it from our permanently employed core team without subcontractors, and demonstrate the quality through room check spot checks rather than through assurances.

06. 10 reasons for Housekeeping from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7Price in writing, fixed after the visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Training on the house standard, in several languages
The standard is explained in the language in which it is understood — German, English and five others. A room standard that exists only on paper does not get worked.
10Finds and damage in writing, the same day
Lost property goes to reception with the room number and the time, damage with a photograph. That takes the pressure off the floor and off management at every later query.
07. Housekeeping in 5 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Cologne, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Kiel and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Housekeeping for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
A high departure rate on one day
A group changeover means almost nothing but departure rooms, and that takes a different amount of time from a day of stayovers. The floor is staffed differently for it.
Sickness absence in the house's own team
We add staff at short notice, without the house having to lower the standard or take rooms out of sale.
The start of the season with a new floor team
It begins with training on the standard, on loading the trolley and on reporting status — after that the cycle runs.
Bathrooms and glass come up in guest reviews
When guests mention shower glass, joints and mirrors, it is almost always a question of cycle and method in the bathroom, and not a question of diligence.
Changing over to a new room standard
After refurbishment, a change of beds or a change of amenities, the routine is written up again, trained, and accompanied by room checks over the first few days.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Housekeeping
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Bed bugs are identified from the seam, not from the insect
What is visible first are dark specks of excrement, cast skins and egg cases on the mattress seam, the slatted base, the headboard and behind loose beading — the insect itself is rarely seen during the day. A find is a case for reporting and not a case for cleaning: vacuuming, spraying or changing the linen in an open trolley distributes the population across the floor. The procedure is to take the room out of use, remove the linen in a closed bag, include the neighbouring rooms and call in a pest controller — we train our staff on that and report immediately with a photograph and the room number.
Urine scale needs acid, and chlorine must not be added to it
Urine scale is a solid mixture of salts that deposits in the trap and under the flush rim; it only dissolves in the acidic range with contact time, and alkaline all-purpose cleaners do nothing to it, however often it is wiped. It becomes dangerous when an acidic sanitary cleaner meets an agent containing chlorine — that produces chlorine gas, and it is one of the most common causes of injury in a guest bathroom altogether. Hence one agent per working step, the original bottle, no mixing and no home-made recipes on the trolley.
A drinking glass and a WC must not see the same cloth
Proper practice works with a colour system: separate cloths for the WC, for the remaining sanitary surfaces, for the room and for glassware — a single all-purpose cloth carries everything it has picked up right along a floor. Glasses and carafes belong in the dishwasher and not on the trolley: a glass that has merely been wiped out is, to the guest, a used glass, and visually the two cannot be told apart. Sets of cloths are prepared per room and changed after use, not according to an estimate by eye.

●. Frequently asked questions about Housekeeping
Does Housekeeping in Vienna, Graz, Linz and Salzburg cover “Room status and reporting back”?
Yes, “Room status and reporting back” is part of the schedule of services. The status goes to reception as soon as the room is finished; lost property, damage and technical faults are reported and recorded the same day.
Does Housekeeping in Vienna, Graz, Linz and Salzburg cover “Bed making and linen change”?
Yes, “Bed making and linen change” is part of the schedule of services. Linen stripped, mattress protector and topper checked, the bed made up again, soiled linen counted into the bag.
Does Housekeeping in Vienna, Graz, Linz and Salzburg cover “Contact surfaces and technology in the room”?
Yes, “Contact surfaces and technology in the room” is part of the schedule of services. Light switches, door handles, remote control, telephone, safe, kettle, minibar and wardrobe handles.
How often is “Contact surfaces and technology in the room” done for Housekeeping?
We set the rhythm after the site visit, based on use and soiling, and put it in writing in the schedule of services.
What does Housekeeping cost?
You get a price in writing even before the site visit; the site visit turns it into a fixed price. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is open-ended with three months' notice. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
