Limescale on shower glass cannot be made up indefinitely
Years without a squeegee leave not a haze on the glass but an attacked surface — glass corrosion. An acidic agent and polishing bring some of it back, not all of it. We test that beforehand on one corner and say what is achievable, so that the handover does not hang on a false expectation.
Pyrolytic and catalytic ovens demand opposite things
A pyrolytic oven burns residues off at high temperature — oven cleaner must not go in beforehand, because it attacks the enamel and the residues bake on. Catalytic back panels must not be treated with alkaline oven cleaner for the same reason. We look to see which version is fitted and clean to the manufacturer's logic — otherwise the damage to the appliance costs more than the whole clean.
With the extractor it depends on how it runs
Metal grease filters can be washed and take the dishwasher. The activated carbon filter in recirculation mode is a consumable that is replaced, not washed — washing it leaves a damp part with no effect. The extract duct behind it belongs to the building, not to the tenancy. We clean the filters, report that a replacement is due and leave the duct alone.
