02. What Mould Removal at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Klosterneuburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Containment and protection of those working
The working area is separated off dust-tight, run under negative pressure with an air scrubber and entered through an airlock. The critical moment is not the growth but the removal, because that is when the largest quantity of spores is released; the work is done with FFP3 and a disposable coverall.
Removal at the surface
Wallpaper, paint and coatings are taken off, smooth, non-absorbent surfaces treated and vacuumed with a fine particulate filter. On small smooth areas we work with seventy to eighty per cent alcohol, not with chlorine bleach.
Stripping out affected substance
Plasterboard, insulation, the insulation layer under a screed, chipboard and wood-based panels are grown through and are taken out, not treated. That part is taken on by our partner firm Skyline Bau GmbH, so that strip-out, drying and reinstatement run together.
Drying to a target value
Condensation or desiccant dryers, and for floor build-ups the drying of the insulation layer through drilled holes; measurement continues to the agreed target value and not to a feeling. The measuring points and the values go into the record.
Fine cleaning, check, prevention
After the drying come the fine cleaning of all surfaces with a fine particulate filter vacuum, a follow-up check and the handover with photographs and measured values. Along with the sober recommendation of what has to be changed about the building or about its use so that it stays away.
Cellar, plinth and walls in contact with the ground
The first thing to separate out is what has actually been found: white, powdery salt efflorescence is not mould, and condensation on a cold wall has a different cause from moisture rising in the masonry. The masonry moisture is measured across the depth, efflorescence is taken off dry, and the ventilation is switched to hygrostat control where that makes sense.
The hillside situation with loess and hillside water is the first point in looking for the cause here: cellars and rooms in contact with the ground take moisture from the uphill side, and that is regularly misread as condensation. The Danube meadows keep the humidity high through the year, which in detached and semi-detached houses heated only in part during the winter leads to cold rooms with a high relative humidity. In the historic stock around the abbey there are vaults in which salt efflorescence and growth sit side by side and have to be treated separately.
03. Mould Removal: Bling Bling vs. the competition
Mould is a moisture problem and not a cleanliness problem: as long as the cause remains, the growth comes back, and usually within a few weeks in the same place. The second underestimated point is the remediation itself, because removing it releases considerably more spores into the room air than leaving it alone — without containment one distributes the growth through the whole flat. That is why we measure first, work in a contained area under negative pressure, take out layers that are grown through instead of painting over them, and evidence the drying with figures. We give the cost range after the inspection, because the area, the construction and the cause determine the work involved. In Klosterneuburg, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Mould Removal from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Measuring equipment and documentation are part of it
Moisture and temperature measurement, the dew point calculation, a photographic series before and after the work and a handover record are part of the service. That is the basis when an insurer, a managing agent or a tenant needs evidence.
10Dryers with a separate meter and a running-time record
Units are set up with their own electricity meter, the running time and the consumption are documented, and in cold rooms desiccant dryers are used — so that the share of the electricity can be evidenced for the insurer and the managing agent.
07. Mould Removal in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Mould Removal for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
After flooding or a backflow from the sewer
Here the problem is not the moisture but the water itself: it is microbially contaminated, and porous building materials in the contact zone have to come out. Cleaning, disinfection and drying run in that order.
After new windows or facade insulation
The building is tighter, the way it is used has stayed the same — the growth appears at the reveal, the roller shutter box and the wall junction. We measure, name the new coldest point and say what is missing in the ventilation.
Discolouration on rafters or the vapour retarder in the loft
A finding in a roof build-up can be condensation, a leaking retarder or a leak, and the range extends as far as wood-destroying fungi. First it is measured, then opened, never the other way round.
A cellar with efflorescence and a musty smell
Often affected stored goods are standing in the middle of it. First clear and separate, then establish the findings across the depth of the wall, then the decision on ventilation, drying or waterproofing.
A dispute over the cause between tenant and managing agent
When use is set against a building defect, no snapshot helps. We install loggers, let them run for weeks and hand over an evaluation that both sides can work with.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Mould Removal
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Chlorine bleach and vinegar are not a remediation
Chlorine decolourises the pigment, so that the spot looks clean while the mycelium stays sitting in the plaster; killed material also remains allergenic, so this is about removal and not about killing. Vinegar is doubly wrong on a mineral substrate, because as an organic acid it brings a nutrient with it and lowers the protective alkaline character of plaster and limewash. What makes professional sense is seventy to eighty per cent alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on small smooth areas — absorbent layers have to come out, and the mould guidance of the German Federal Environment Agency draws the line at about half a square metre: above that, the remediation belongs in professional hands, including containment.
Dry is a measured value, not an impression
After water damage the surface dries first, while the insulation layer under the screed and the area at the skirting still hold water for weeks; it is precisely there that growth continues, invisibly under the closed floor. That is why drying is done through core drillings by the negative or positive pressure method and checked with the oven-dry or carbide method and measuring points within the build-up, until the target value is reached — depending on the construction that is weeks, not days. Anyone who closes the floor earlier because it feels dry on top builds the mould in, and opens it up again the next year at twice the cost.
Not every dark deposit is mould, and not every fungus is a cleaning job
White, crystalline efflorescence is salts which travel to the surface with the moisture and can be wiped off as a powder — they indicate the transport of moisture, but they are not growth. Dark, oily-looking deposits on walls and curtains can be fogging, a blackening by dust caused by semi-volatile organic compounds from furnishings and redecoration, which needs no fungicide but a different investigation of the cause. The most important distinction concerns wood-destroying fungi: dry rot forms strands which grow through masonry, carries moisture onward itself and destroys the load-bearing capacity of timber, and in several federal provinces there is a duty to notify a suspected case under the building regulations. That is a case for building experts and structural engineers: we draw the line, report it and hand the constructional part over to our partner firm Skyline Bau GmbH, rather than cleaning a finding away.

●. Frequently asked questions about Mould Removal in Klosterneuburg
What does Mould Removal cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
