02. What Indoor Pool Cleaning at Bling Bling covers

The scope of work in Graz at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.

Ventilation grilles, floor outlets and recirculation chambers

Supply and extract grilles, outlets in steps and wall recesses and accessible chambers are taken off dry. The inside of the ductwork and the air handling unit stays with the pool plant technicians.

Lockers, valuables boxes, mats and hairdryers

Lockers inside with hair, sand and plaster remains, the locking mechanism dry, the undersides of benches, rubber mats lifted and worked on both sides, hairdryers and shelves in the changing area.

Barefoot areas and the pool surround

Work is done with a brush and suction, not with a mop: barefoot slip resistance arises from the open texture of the tile, and that has to stay clear. Assessment groups A to B on the surround and C in sloping areas are the specification the method is aligned to.

Overflow channel, ladders and pool edge

Biofilm forms in the channel, because warmth, damp and whatever is carried in all come together there. It is worked mechanically, listed products are given their contact time, and access ladders and rails are done individually.

Showers, changing rooms, lockers and footbaths

Lime-soap deposits on walls and floors, shower heads and taps, benches, locker plinths and footbaths. Here it is the interval that decides, not the one-off action.

Limescale on tiles, glass and partitions

Limescale needs the acidic range, and the type of grout decides the product and the dwell time. Cement-bound grout is treated gently; epoxy-resin grout will take more.

Graz pools are frequently hotel, college and club pools that follow the semester and club rhythm — the windows fall in the semester breaks and in the summer. The fine-dust inversion in the basin brings additional dust in through the ventilation in winter, which fixes itself to the permanently damp glazing and forms a stubborn haze there. Many facilities are in hillside locations with narrow access, large machines do not get as far as the pool, so we work with hand-guided equipment and more staff.

03. Indoor Pool Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition

An indoor pool hall is a chemically loaded space: warm, damp air, chlorides on every surface, lime soap wherever people shower, and barefoot traffic on every metre. The two mistakes one sees there daily are acid on cement grout and chlorine-based products on stainless steel — both leave damage to the building element and not to the cleanliness. We work area by area with matched products, keep to contact times, treat barefoot areas mechanically and take the channel into the schedule of services as an item of its own. We give the cost range after the inspection with the pool management, because the pool perimeter, the tile build-up and the operating hours determine the effort. In Graz, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Indoor Pool Cleaning from Bling Bling

What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.

1In business since 2014

A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.

2Registered core team

Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.

3The same people every time

The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.

4€3m public liability

Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.

5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP

Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.

6Multilingual

German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.

7No price without a site visit

A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.

8Dated proof

Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.

9One method per pool lining

Liner, stainless steel and tiling are worked differently; which lining is installed stands ahead of the product in our schedule of services.

10Findings rather than intervention in the plant

Filters, dosing, the balance tank and the stove stay with the pool plant technicians. Anything notable goes to the pool management with a photograph and a date, so that the right route is taken.

08. Indoor Pool Cleaning for 5 typical situations

The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.

After refurbishment or tiling work

Cement haze and grout residues sit in the surface and take away its grip. Taken off fresh, that is a cleaning matter; later it is a tiling matter.

The rim at the waterline has become visible

After weeks of heavy use and a lot of sun cream, the greasy rim marks itself out all round the pool. It is taken off before it binds dirt and goes dark.

The sauna smells of old infusions

Oil and resin residues sit in the timber of the bench, the backrest and the stove casing and come back out on heating up. That is a visit of its own with mechanical work.

After a water change or a liner replacement

With the pool empty, the waterline, pool wall, entry steps and junction joints are reachable. Afterwards there is a check and the condition is documented.

Condensation streaks on glazing and profiles

When windows and metal profiles are permanently wet, a haze forms that binds into the glass surface over time. A cycle keeps it away and makes permanent damp visible as a finding.

★ Worth knowing

What is often misjudged about Indoor Pool Cleaning

Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.

Sauna timber tolerates no cleaner

Untreated softwood in the cabin is absorbent: surfactants, fragrances and disinfectants soak in and are given off again on heating up — the cabin then smells of cleaner, and the emission irritates eyes and airways. Benches are therefore worked with clean water and a brush in the direction of the grain, heavily coated surfaces sanded mechanically, and seat slats taken out where needed rather than scrubbed wet. Hygiene in a sauna area is decided outside the cabin in any case: on handles, door levers, loungers, head rests, footbaths and barefoot routes — there we work with listed products and the contact time observed. The stove and the stones stay with the pool plant technicians.

The haze on the glass may be glass corrosion

In an indoor pool hall the absolute humidity is high; moisture condenses on glazing and metal profiles, and the spray mist from the pool water dries there as a layer of limescale and salts. If it is left standing over a longer period, the alkaline environment attacks the glass surface: matt patches and streaks appear that are no longer a deposit but a change in the pane — that clouding cannot be brought back with any product. That is why glazing in an indoor pool hall is a matter for a cycle and not for an occasion, and the work is done mildly acidic and with soft tools. If a spot stays permanently wet or the profile shows corrosion, we report it with a photograph, because there is moisture in the building element behind it.

The chlorine smell does not come from chlorine but from chloramines

Free chlorine in the pool water reacts with urea, sweat and skin oils to form combined chlorine — including trichloramine, which goes into the hall air and produces the characteristic smell that is often read as a sign of too much disinfection. How the water is treated is governed by the pool hygiene regulations and, in Austria, by the water quality requirements of ÖNORM M 6215 together with the process specifications of DIN 19643; that is the business of the pool plant technicians. The cleaning decides the supply: showers and barefoot routes in which skin oils and salts are left behind feed it continuously, and those are exactly the surfaces that are dealt with consistently and not merely superficially.

●. Frequently asked questions about Indoor Pool Cleaning in Graz

What does Indoor Pool Cleaning cost?

There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.

Is the site visit really free?

Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.

Does the same person come every time?

Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.

Is your staff properly registered?

All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.

What insurance is in place?

Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.

What happens if something is not right?

It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.

Can you work outside business hours?

Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.

Do I have to provide materials or a room?

Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.

What notice period applies?

The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.

Do you also work in English?

Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.

Which documents do I get?

A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
