Candle wax and chewing gum need temperature, not force
Paraffin draws into the capillaries of absorbent natural stone and unsealed screed and leaves a dark rim which remains visible after scraping; on textiles it is drawn out with warmth and absorbent paper, not rubbed. Chewing gum is frozen and then lifted off whole, because warm wiping spreads the rubber out. Anyone standing pillar candles on stone without a holder should know that beforehand — we say so at the inspection.
Vomit and body fluids are a procedure with an order to it
Proteins fix with heat: hot water makes the stain on textile permanent, so it is taken up cold and only disinfected afterwards, with contact time rather than a spray and a wipe. We work with listed disinfectants and single-use materials, the waste goes separately, and after the contact time the area is worked over neutral so that no residue is left sticky. A masking deodorising spray replaces none of those steps.
Confetti and glitter are a material problem, not a sweeping problem
Coloured paper confetti bleeds onto light-coloured natural stone and onto unsealed screed as soon as it gets wet: the dye draws into the capillaries and once dry cannot be got out with water. Glitter made from plastic film is held fast by the flat weave of an exhibition carpet and needs a brush roller and several vacuum passes, not one. Before the event we say which effect is defensible over which flooring, and we protect the surface beneath.
