The keypad, the card slot and the screen are electronics with seals. Spray mist gets drawn into the gaps and is one of the most common causes of machine faults after cleaning. There we work with a pre-moistened cloth, never towards an opening. And if a cover feels loose, it is reported and not pulled at.
Lettered glass does not tolerate alcohol
Filmed or printed partition screens and anti-reflective coatings are dulled by alcohol-based cleaners, and at the edges of the film the print lifts. The damage is only noticed after weeks, but it is then permanent. We clean such surfaces with a neutral agent and squeegee them off rather than polishing them.
Floor damage in the counter hall comes from outside in winter
Road salt and grit are carried in through the airlock. Salt crystallises out in the flooring and leaves white rims; grit abrades traffic lanes into the finish. Extended matting zones and a salt-dissolving cleaner in the entrance area through the winter months save bringing the deep clean forward in spring.
