02. What Music School Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Salzburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Percussion and wind rooms
Condensate and valve oil collect beneath brass positions, and drum head abrasion and metal dust from cymbals in the percussion room. Those are spot tasks on the floor with a grease-dissolving agent, and the instruments themselves are not moved.
Music archive and library
Shelves, folders and boxes are wiped dry and with a fine-filter vacuum, with no moisture near paper and bindings. Sheet music is not reordered and not removed.
Cloakrooms, waiting areas and sanitary areas at the change of lesson
Every forty-five minutes new families come into the building: the cloakroom, waiting area, drinking fountain, sanitary areas and door handles need short, recurring passes rather than a single clean in the evening.
Transport routes for instruments
Before a grand piano, timpani or amplifiers are moved through the building, thresholds, lift floors and rolling routes have to be clear and dry. We agree the timing with the transport, because a wet floor under a piano dolly is material damage.
Instruments are left untouched
Grand pianos, uprights, double basses, percussion, amplifiers and sheet music are not dusted, not covered and not moved. Which surfaces in a room count as part of that is set out on a list of exclusions released by the institution.
Floors distinguished by covering
Linoleum reacts to strongly alkaline deep cleaners with dull patches and yellowing, while sealed parquet tolerates only damp wiping and no standing water at the joints. The agent is determined room by room, not building by building.
The musical education setting here is dense, and the buildings frequently stand in the historic fabric of the old town: narrow stairs, no goods lift, materials carried and stored temporarily within the building. The festival and Advent periods bring additional events outside the timetable, for which separate visits are planned. The high rainfall means constant wet and grit through the entrances — the barrier matting zone is the most important surface in the building in Salzburg, because it is from there that the mineral input travels into the halls.
03. Music School Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
In a music school the most valuable object in the room is almost always exactly where nobody may reach, and the cleaning often has only a few minutes between two teaching sessions. Added to that are materials that do not occur in an office: open-cell acoustic foam, fabric-covered absorbers, linoleum, lacquered timber. We therefore work with a written list of exclusions, a plan following the timetable and agents specified room by room, and acoustic elements are vacuumed only. We give the cost framework after the inspection, because the number of rooms, the density of use and the equipment determine the effort involved. In Salzburg, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Music School Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Short windows are planned for, not hoped for
A site supervisor agrees the windows with the school management and moves them when the timetable changes. If a visit falls away because of a recital, it is made up and not simply ticked off.
10Working with children and young people means fixed individuals
It is always the same employed, properly registered staff who come, under a formal key arrangement. We use no subcontractors, because in a building with minors it has to remain traceable who was present.
07. Music School Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Music School Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
An open day
Visitors in every room, instruments openly set out, registration tables in the corridor. Beforehand, glass, floors and contact surfaces; afterwards, the reinstatement along with a floor check.
An infection wave in winter
In weeks with a high rate of sickness absence, contact surfaces are treated more frequently and with listed agents, without damaging the materials in the building. The denser cycle is agreed for a fixed period.
End of term and holidays
The only time rooms stand empty for longer: deep-clean the floors, vacuum high-level surfaces and ventilation grilles, work through chairs and upholstery.
Before and after a recital evening
Seating, stage, foyer and sanitary areas the day before; the day after, drink marks, programme sheets and the seating back in place.
After decorating or building work
Plaster and sanding dust is the most critical input in a building full of instruments. Here the work is done with fine-filter extraction and followed up over several passes.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Music School Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Timber and the heating season
Instruments of timber react to humidity, and a range of around forty to sixty per cent is regarded as tolerable; during the heating season the figure regularly falls below that in teaching rooms, and then the soundboard and the tuning work against their owner. Floors mopped wet give their moisture up to the room air within a short time, which is well meant but uncontrolled — a short-term peak stresses timber more than a stable low figure does. We keep the quantity of water small, leave lacquered surfaces alone entirely and agree the ventilation after cleaning with the institution, which controls the humidification.
A stage or dance floor must not be given a maintenance film
Stage linoleum is deliberately matt and has a defined coefficient of friction: dancers need grip on landing and at the same time glide in a turn, and the manufacturer sets both through the surface. Maintenance mopping, polymer dispersion or wax lay a film over it that makes the surface first glossy and then slippery in places, while wear becomes uneven. Strongly alkaline deep cleaners are just as wrong, because linoleum consists of linseed oil, resin and wood flour, and the surface saponifies, which shows as dull patches and yellowing. We record in writing, room by room, which floor stays free of a maintenance film, and work there barely damp with a neutral agent only.
Rosin is a resin and not a dust
Bow rosin breaks off as a fine powder during playing, softens with body heat and binds dust into a sticky deposit on the floor, stand, chair back and window sill — on a smooth surface that feels after weeks like a grip coating. Water does not dissolve resin, abrasives cause scratches, and alcohol-based agents belong exclusively on surfaces that are not part of an instrument: instrument lacquers are in part shellac or oil resin finishes, which alcohol softens within seconds. The line is therefore drawn clearly — we work on the floor and the furniture, while instrument care stays with the institution and the teachers. Freshly deposited rosin dust is first taken up dry, before moisture comes into play at all.

●. Frequently asked questions about Music School Cleaning in Salzburg
What does Music School Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
