02. What Flat Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Salzburg at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Balcony, loggia and terrace
Floor slabs, balustrade glass, the inside face of the parapet, the underside of window boxes and the drains. Soot film and pigeon droppings are softened first and lifted off, not scraped dry; on timber decking the work follows the grain.
Radiators, roller shutter boxes and ventilation outlets
Dust sits between the fins, scorches when the heating runs and ends up as a grey haze on the wall above. Roller shutter boxes are vacuumed, ventilation outlets taken off and wiped — the filter itself remains appliance work.
Cellar, loft and storage rooms
The cellar compartment, bike store, loft compartment and box room are picked up dry, cobwebs removed, floor drains opened and refilled with water. Stored items are not moved but worked around.
Curtains, rugs and runners
Curtains are taken down, treated according to the care label and rehung; rugs and runners are vacuumed on both sides, stains pre-treated and extraction used only where the room allows the drying time.
Bathroom, grout and shower enclosure
Limescale, soap residue and body oils are tackled separately: acidic on tile and glass, neutral on natural stone and acrylic. Taps and aerators are descaled without letting acid dry on coated surfaces.
Kitchen with hardened grease
Extractor hood, splashback, handle rails and the top edges of wall units carry an oxidised film of grease that does not respond to pressure. It needs an alkaline degreaser and dwell time; aluminium parts are excluded, because alkali darkens them.
Salzburg's high rainfall shows in flats at external wall corners, window reveals and behind cupboards on outside walls: that is where the surface temperature is lowest in winter, and that is where moisture settles. We take such places off with a suitable agent but document them beforehand, because the cause is building physics and not cleaning. In the old town and on the hillsides the flats are in narrow buildings without lifts, which limits water quantities and equipment size; second homes in irregular use also need their traps refilled.
03. Flat Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
A flat of sixty to a hundred square metres holds more different surfaces than an entire office floor: a marble washstand next to a cement joint, oiled parquet next to design flooring, an acrylic bath next to a coated tap, and glass that has carried limescale for years. Going through all of that with one all-purpose cleaner and one sanitary cleaner causes damage in a single visit that nobody reverses — and the cleaning gets the blame. We record the coverings before the first visit, set the agents room by room, photograph existing damage with the date, and assign the same registered staff on a fixed cycle. The cost framework comes after the site visit, because condition, fittings and cycle determine the work, not the number of rooms. In Salzburg, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Flat Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Access that stays accountable
Key handover is recorded, keys are labelled without reference to the address, and every visit is confirmed with a date. Anyone entering someone else's home regularly has to be able to show who was in and when — to the insurer as well.
10Putting it right instead of arguing
If something is left open after a visit, we come back within 48 hours at no charge, with the same person who knows the flat. That is settled faster than an argument about a mark.
07. Flat Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Flat Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
When the smell of smoke stays in the flat
Nicotine lays a sticky, yellowish tar film on walls, ceilings, door leaves and light switches, and that film gives off the smell. It can be taken off with an alkaline agent; if a residual smell remains, it takes a barrier primer and repainting — our partner firm Skyline Bau can take that on.
An allergy household in spring
Pollen sits in curtains, insect screens, window rebates and upholstery. Work is done with a filter stage and damp-bound dust pick-up, and mattresses and upholstery are vacuumed separately.
A regular cycle in a two-income household
A fixed rhythm with a consistent scope, plus a rhythm for the deep work: oven, windows, upholstery, edge joints.
After the trades have finished
After a window replacement, decorating or floor laying, fine dust sits throughout the flat, including inside cupboards and on curtains. The dust is picked up bound, not spread around.
Before moving into a new flat
Kitchen fronts, bathroom, joints, roller shutter boxes and edge joints are done before the furniture goes in, because afterwards half of it is no longer reachable.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Flat Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Dark rims under furniture feet and at the window board are not dirt
Plasticisers and anti-ageing agents from rubber feet, castors and felt glides migrate into vinyl and design flooring; the discolouration sits in the wear layer and cannot be cleaned out, whatever the product. In the window reveal, the black line is usually mould at the coldest point in the flat: the surface drops below the dew point, and from around eighty per cent surface humidity the fungus grows. We take it off at the surface with a suitable agent, but the lasting remedy is ventilation, heating or a structural improvement. We record both in the initial survey, so that the cleaning is not later held responsible.
Self-cleaning ovens lose their function to cleaning products
Pyrolytic ovens have a particularly smooth, heat-resistant enamel; catalytic ovens have rough catalytic panels that oxidise grease at high temperature. An alkaline oven gel or spray attacks both: the enamel goes dull and then picks up dirt faster, and the catalytic layer is clogged and stops working. The door seal and the aluminium panels of many appliances react to alkali as well. The proper approach is therefore: run the pyrolytic programme and then only take out the ash, treat catalytic surfaces dry, and clean the removable inner pane separately. We look at the appliance to see what is fitted, instead of applying the same product everywhere.
On parquet and laminate, a steam cleaner is the fastest route to damage
Steam introduces heat and moisture at the same time — exactly the combination wood-based materials cannot take. With laminate the core board swells at the joint edges, and that does not go back; with sealed parquet the lacquer lifts at the edges of the joints, water then draws into the joint flank and the top layer cups. Oiled parquet loses its oil in patches. The right approach is mist-damp mopping with a product approved for the covering and drying the edge joints immediately; oiled floors are re-oiled at intervals rather than cleaned harder. We record which covering is in which room and work accordingly.

●. Frequently asked questions about Flat Cleaning in Salzburg
What does Flat Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
