02. What Dance School Cleaning at Bling Bling covers

The scope of work in Linz at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.

Rosin and talc residues

Rosin from pointe and tap work binds to the covering as a sticky layer and does not dissolve in water. It is taken off separately and with an agent approved for that covering.

Changing rooms, showers and barefoot areas

Benches, lockers, shower trays and drainage gratings. Barefoot areas are disinfected, because dermatophytes are passed on by way of the tray and the grating.

Ventilation, reception and waiting area

Supply air grilles, fans, reception desk, cloakroom, benches and the glass doors on which handprints and hairspray collect.

Rolls of portable flooring and laying tape

Portable dance floors are lifted roll by roll, cleaned on the top and the underside and rolled up again dry, and tape residue at the joints is taken off. Rolls put away damp go mouldy and stick together the next time they are laid out.

Stage, trusses and the technical surroundings

Stage floor and stage edge, steps, trusses at hand height, cold luminaires, cable runs and the control desk. Work is done only on equipment that is switched off and cooled down, and with no moisture at plug connections.

Molton, drapes and acoustic elements

Stage curtain, screening, sound absorbers and ceiling baffles are vacuumed and spot-treated rather than wet-cleaned, because textile given a flame-retardant treatment can lose that property through washing.

Halls in Linz are frequently in converted commercial and industrial buildings with a concrete or screed substrate on which the dance floor is laid directly: such surfaces are cold from below, which is why condensation and residual moisture are watched more closely than in an older building. The iron-bearing dust from the industrial surroundings comes in through windows and ventilation and shows up on light-coloured coverings and mirrors. Class groups from local firms run to shift patterns, which puts the cleaning windows unusually early or unusually late.

03. Dance School Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition

A dance floor is a piece of sports equipment, and its surface is part of how it functions: it has to give purchase on landing and at the same time permit a defined amount of turn, and both depend on the residue the cleaning leaves behind. That is exactly where most contracts go wrong — a film of polish makes the floor shiny and the pirouette uncontrolled, a surfactant residue makes it tacky, and standing mop water runs into the substructure of a sprung floor. We work to the floor manufacturer's specification, barely damp and without film-forming products, and place the rounds in the windows between classes. Only after the site inspection is it settled what the work covers; the type of covering, the number of studios and the density of classes decide that. In Linz, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Dance School Cleaning from Bling Bling

What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.

1In business since 2014

A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.

2Registered core team

Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.

3The same people every time

The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.

4€3m public liability

Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.

5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP

Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.

6Multilingual

German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.

7No price without a site visit

A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.

8Dated proof

Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.

9A written materials list in the cleaning store

Which agent is used on which covering is posted up where it can be seen — for the school's own staff as well, who wipe up between classes themselves.

10Work in the breaks between classes

The studio is booked in the evening and at competitions over the weekend. We place the rounds in the windows that are genuinely free, early and late included.

08. Dance School Cleaning for 5 typical situations

The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.

Before examinations, performances and photography

Studio, mirrors and cloakroom brought to a condition that holds up in pictures as well.

A new letting of the studio to outside groups

Interim cleaning with a record, so that the condition between two users is established.

After floor markings have been taped down

Adhesive residue has to come off without trace before warmth settles it into the wear layer.

The start of term with new class groups

Changing rooms, showers and barefoot areas done through once in full, then continued as regular cleaning.

After a ball or a dance evening with a bar

A film of drink on the covering, marks in the textiles, sanitary facilities under pressure and glassware left about — worked through overnight so that the studio can be booked again in the morning.

★ Worth knowing

What is often misjudged about Dance School Cleaning

Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.

Mirrors lose their edge from behind

On wall mirrors the silvering lies on the back, protected by lacquer and, at the edges, by nothing at all: if cleaning liquid runs over the edge or stands on the bottom edge, it gets in under the lacquer, and the characteristic black rims and spots appear, which cannot be put right. Products containing ammonia or vinegar are particularly aggressive here. Work on mirrors is therefore done with a damp, not a wet, cloth, the bottom edge is drawn over dry, and in dance studios where the floor is cleaned care is taken that no mop water stands against the mirror edge.

Perspiration and condensation change the surface

Perspiration contains salts, urea and amino acids; over time it attacks sealed sports floors, brass fittings and chrome, and on vinyl it leaves a sticky film that slows turns. In well-attended classes the humidity adds to this: if a covering is cooled from below, over an unheated cellar for instance, condensation forms at the surface and the floor becomes slippery without any dirt at all. Part of studio cleaning is therefore airing the room before the round and looking at the supply and extract air — a ventilation system that has been switched off causes more problems than the wrong agent.

The dust in a dance studio is mostly fibre and skin

Unlike in an office, the dust here consists largely of textile fibres, skin flakes and sole abrasion; it is light, is stirred up by every movement, and with moisture settles as a smeary film on smooth coverings. Dry mopping only picks it up if the fibre pad binds it — a dry broom spreads it about, and a wet mop pastes it down. In practice that means: high-level surfaces and ventilation grilles first, then take it up dry with a fibre pad, then draw over barely damp, and keep an eye on the ventilation filters.

●. Frequently asked questions about Dance School Cleaning in Linz

What does Dance School Cleaning cost?

There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.

Is the site visit really free?

Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.

Does the same person come every time?

Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.

Is your staff properly registered?

All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.

What insurance is in place?

Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.

What happens if something is not right?

It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.

Can you work outside business hours?

Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.

Do I have to provide materials or a room?

Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.

What notice period applies?

The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.

Do you also work in English?

Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.

Which documents do I get?

A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.

How quickly can you start?

Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
