02. What Cinema Cleaning at Bling Bling covers
The scope of work in Graz at a glance — what the contract says and what actually happens on site.
Aisle carpet, needlefelt and floor lighting
Vacuumed with a brush roller in two directions, stain treatment with pre-treatment, and with them the step and orientation lights in the aisle. Popcorn crumbs in the pile are worked out, not vacuumed over.
Display cases, light boxes and machines
Poster cases inside and out, light boxes in a cold state, the touchscreens of the ticket machines and till terminals barely damp and alcohol-free, coin and card slots.
The turnaround clean between two performances
Walking the rows, picking up cups and popcorn, sweeping the steps, binding spilt drinks immediately. The round is calculated against the minutes in the programme and staffed for each auditorium.
Seating, upholstery and cup holders
Seat, back, arm, tip-up pivot and cup holder — the holder is the place where sugar residue and drink rings sit. Upholstery is worked with dry foam or with little liquid, never soaked.
The stepped auditorium floor and row markings
Step edges, platforms, row signage and the marking strips are each taken separately. Photoluminescent strips are left without a care film.
Foyer, box office, bar and popcorn area
Display cases, counters, dispensers, the popcorn machine from outside, floors with a grease film. Here it is the frequency that decides, because the grease film is carried onward.
In Graz cinemas stand partly in the old town and partly on the edge of the city; in the conservation area there is no vehicle access and no space for equipment, so work is done with hand trolleys. The student audience shifts the rhythm into the late performances during the week, which extends the turnaround clean into the night. In summer, open-air operation on squares and on the hill is added — surfaces with no roof, with grass, gravel and weather instead of seating and carpet.
03. Cinema Cleaning: Bling Bling vs. the competition
A cinema has no cleaning window, it has minutes: between the closing credits and admission there stands an auditorium with steps, rows, cup holders and spilt drinks, and the next auditorium starts at the same time. On top of that come two things that occur in this form only here — popcorn fat, which lays itself as a thin film over floors, backs and holders and in time smells rancid, and photoluminescent markings on steps and escape routes, which tolerate no coating. We therefore staff the turnaround clean according to the performance grid and the auditorium plan and keep the deep cleaning of the auditoria separate from it as a cycle of its own. The cost framework we give after the inspection with the management. In Graz, Bling Bling works with the same core team that knows the building.

06. 10 reasons for Cinema Cleaning from Bling Bling
What a cleaning company has to be measured against — and which of it can be verified.
1In business since 2014
A family firm, not a franchise and not a broker — whoever quotes also carries out the work.
2Registered core team
Permanently employed and properly registered. No chain of subcontractors where nobody is liable at the end.
3The same people every time
The team knows the building, the access and the routines. Cover is arranged and named in advance.
4€3m public liability
Personal injury, property and financial loss covered; the certificate is attached to the quotation.
5RKI/VAH-listed agents, HACCP
Listed agents, trained staff, a cleaning and disinfection plan for each building.
6Multilingual
German, English and five further languages — the briefing gets through.
7No price without a site visit
A flat price over the phone rarely holds. After the visit the framework is set out in writing. A monthly flat rate applies to weekly recurring cleaning; one-off and deep cleans by effort - hourly, per square metre or flat - travel included.
8Dated proof
Record of each visit and photo documentation, reported monthly.
9Preparing the glasses as a work step of its own
Return, cleaning, disinfection with a contact time and drying are planned into the rhythm and staffed, instead of being dealt with in passing between two auditoria.
10Degreasing behind the counter at a fixed interval
The hood, the grease filter, the grease trap and the floor gully run on a cycle with a date, so that the smell in the foyer does not come out of the extract air.
07. Cinema Cleaning in 4 more cities
Bling Bling works in Vienna, Graz, Linz, Salzburg and Klosterneuburg — with its own staff on site, not with subcontractors hired in.
08. Cinema Cleaning for 5 typical situations
The same service looks different depending on the occasion — these five situations come up most often.
After conversion work or a change of seating
Drilling dust, packaging residue, film adhesive on the floor and the seat backs. Taken off fresh, that is cleaning; later it becomes work on the material.
A 3D release with high occupancy
Glasses come back in large quantities and have to pass through cleaning, disinfection with a contact time and drying before the next performance admits. That is staffed separately.
A smell of fat behind the counter
If it smells of old fat when the house opens, the fat is sitting in the hood, the filter and around the popcorn machine. That is a degreasing appointment of its own.
The auditorium becomes stuffy
Blocked supply air outlets beneath the rows and extract grilles with a dust and grease mixture reduce the air change rate. The surfaces are cleaned and the condition of the filters is reported.
New seating with a leather or artificial leather covering
Artificial and genuine leather need different agents and different intervals from textile. The procedure is rewritten before the first round runs.
★ Worth knowing
What is often misjudged about Cinema Cleaning
Said up front, on the facts — not after the invoice.
Textile acoustic fabric is an absorber, not a curtain
The fabric in the auditorium sits in front of mineral wool or foam absorbers and works only for as long as the weave stays permeable to air. Moisture, cleaners and pressure stick the fibres together and draw rings; the absorber behind loses its effect, and that can be heard as a longer reverberation time and poorer speech intelligibility in the auditorium. On top of that, molton and covering fabrics in an auditorium are tested for their fire behaviour, and some treatments are applied on the surface and water-soluble — after a wet wash the certificate no longer covers the material. That is why work is done dry, with low suction and a nozzle held off the surface, stains locally, and damaged lengths go to the outfitter rather than into cleaning.
Artificial leather needs the opposite rule to a textile seat
What looks like leather in an auditorium is frequently a fabric coated with PVC or polyurethane. Alcohol, solvents and alkaline degreasers draw the plasticisers out of the PVC layer: the surface goes hard, shines unevenly and cracks at the seam and the front edge — and the damage only shows months after the wrong treatment. Genuine, pigmented leather tolerates a mild, pH-neutral cleaning and needs re-fatting at intervals. The most frequent discolourations come neither from popcorn nor from drinks but from hand cream, sun oil and denim dye: denim blue that has migrated onto a light-coloured covering is not a stain that comes out. That is why the type of covering is recorded before an agent is chosen.
Popcorn fat is a film of grease, not a crumb problem
Popcorn is usually prepared in vegetable fat, and that fat is carried into the auditorium as a fine film: onto the floor, the armrest, the cup holder and the textile. There it oxidises over days and weeks and turns rancid — the musty smell in an auditorium comes out of the textile and out of the joints, not out of the air, and a fragrance product merely lies over it. Fat dissolves with a mildly alkaline cleaner and a contact time; in upholstery it takes pre-treatment and vigorous vacuuming, because every remaining trace binds dust again. That is why the seating belongs in a cycle of its own and not in the turnaround clean.

●. Frequently asked questions about Cinema Cleaning in Graz
What does Cinema Cleaning cost?
There is no price before the site visit, and a figure given over the phone rarely holds. We look at surfaces, access and time windows, and then the cost framework is set out in writing with a schedule of services. What changes the price: the area, the frequency, the condition at handover and the time of day the work is done. Two rules apply everywhere: a monthly flat rate is only offered for recurring cleaning at least once a week, including stairwells. One-off jobs, first cleans and deep cleans are billed by effort - depending on the service by the hour at a higher rate, by square metre or as a flat price - and travel time there and back counts.
Is the site visit really free?
Yes, free of charge and without obligation. It is the only way to quote seriously, so we treat it as part of the offer, not as a service to be paid for.
Does the same person come every time?
Yes. The team is permanently employed and knows the building, the access arrangements and the routines. Cover is arranged in advance and named, and it works from the building log, not from a verbal handover.
Is your staff properly registered?
All of them, with social insurance. No chain of subcontractors in which nobody is liable at the end. Proof is provided on request.
What insurance is in place?
Public liability of €3m, covering personal injury, property damage and financial loss. The certificate is attached to the quotation.
What happens if something is not right?
It is put right within 48 hours, in writing, at no extra cost. Measured against the schedule of services and a joint inspection, not against an impression.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes — early, late, at weekends or on public holidays. In occupied buildings, daytime cleaning in sections is often the better option, because the client sees the work and can raise anything immediately.
Do I have to provide materials or a room?
Materials and equipment we bring. What helps is a lockable store with a slop sink, space for the trolley and somewhere for pads to dry — damp pads in a closed bag are the most common source of smell in an otherwise clean building.
What notice period applies?
The contract is terminable monthly. There is no minimum term and no automatic extension by the year.
Do you also work in English?
Yes — German, English and five further languages. The briefing gets through, which matters more on site than it sounds.
Which documents do I get?
A schedule of services with frequencies, a dated record of each visit, photo documentation before and after, and a monthly report.
How quickly can you start?
Usually within a few working days of the quotation being accepted. Short-notice jobs are most readily possible in Vienna, because travel times within a district are short.
